A Day of Music, Tears, and Thoughts.

I have been listing to a lot of music today.

Music always helps me wade through my emotions… It pushes me get out the feelings that I have buried, so I can think, feel and figure out what it is that I need to do, or follow, to be happy.

I normally follow each album with reflection in quiet stillness where I dry the tears that pushed from my eyes as I listened to the sad or heart felt words.

When in this mood I seem to listen to the same bands/albums over and over. The repetition anchors me in the storm of my emotions as I drift thrashing on the sobs pushing from my soul.

The albums I listen to today are:

Sarah McLachlan… Fumbling towards Ecstasy
REO Speed Wagon… Greatest Hits
The Submarines
Chris Isaak… Forever Blue
Norah Jones… Come Away With Me.
Diana Krall… When I Look In Your Eyes
Metallica… Black Album.

Quite diverse I guess for reflection music… and Metallica Black simply puts me into an emotional state where all I do is feel. Don’t know why that is.

I listen to all forms of music normally, even country. Yeah I did just say that. Though classic Rock is a favorite of mine, you know all those songs you heard and danced to while growing up. (a topic for an entirely different post.)

Do you listen to music when you are in a sad, reflective mood? If so what do you listen too?

Hey! You had my work addy, but I got it. Glad you didn’t get my X on the phone. lol.

I will give you a call tomorrow. It will be good to talk to you live.

Music and writing certainly do go hand and hand. I will listen to the same song that hits the right emotion over and over and over when writing a scene.

Thanks for the sweet words and thoughts. I miss you dearly.

    The Submarines break my heart.

I’d have waited a lifetime for a sign
Only to fall apart when love arrives
    But we’re coming home
    We’re coming home
    We’re coming home

Indeed Anonymous it is a wonderful CD full of great lines and beautiful music.

    My personal favorite lines are…

“I saw my shadow next to yours just fade away.” (from this conversation)

“A breaking heart in an empty apartment was the loudest sound I never heard.” (from Brighter Discontent)

But my favorite songs on the album that ring true for me at this moment are Clouds, Vote, and Peace and Hate.
