Back into it!

I have started back into writing after taking a month off. To do this I have added to my music list for inspiration during the next few months. This list always starts slow for me… one or two songs here or there. A wonderful song I have been listening to by Neil Finn will make it on this list for my next writing round.

I’m really close tonight
And I feel like I’m moving inside her
Lying in the dark
And I think that I’m beginning to know her
Let it go
I’ll be there when you call

And whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain

You’re hiding from me now
There’s something in the way that you’re talking
Words don’t sound right
But I hear them all moving inside you, go
I’ll be waiting when you call

Hey and whenever I fall at your feet
Won’t you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain

The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And I’m more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help
Who knows where that might lead
I fall

Whenever I fall at your feet
Would you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I fall, ever I fall

Oh and this song by one of my favorites… Elvis Costello. Am I crazy, or is this song just a we bit kinky?

I want a girl to make a mess
To do no wrong she must confess
And then perhaps hitch up her dress
‘Cos when the flashbulbs explode
She’s such a sensitive soul…

I want a girl who is helpless and frail
Who won’t pull on my ponytail
I want a girl who has no past
She’s made up now
But that won’t last
‘Cos when she sits on my knee
And then she whispers to me

“Can’t you see
I could be
I could be
Your spooky girlfriend”

The broken toys are all scattered in the attic
Newspapers play with the words of the fanatic
While the greeting cards are your most poetic lyric
And the flat champagne is sweet sugar syrup

I want to paint you with glitter and with dirt
Picture you wit innocence and hurt
The shutter closes
Exposes the shot
she says, “Are you looking up my skirt?”
When you say “No”
She says “Why not?”

I want a girl to turn my screw
To wind my watch, to buckle my shoe
And if she won’t her mother will do
But when she does as she’s told
We’ll all turn platinum and gold

But when she sits on my knee
I hear her whispers to me
“Can’t you see?
“I could be your spooky girlfriend”

Unfortunately I could not find this one to embed for you to listen to. It is an amazing song though, and you should look for it online.

Those are my first two songs for this next writing push.

Smiles. Wonder what will come from that mix.

Dude, Elvis Costello is a dirty dirty man!

I’m listening to Thomas the Train. No really, I am. Totally gets me in the mood to write. LOL.

Hun, I know what you write, do you have train fantasies?
