I need your help…

with a remodeling quandary.

This summer I took on the task of redoing my stairs. There are some local internal HOA rules that I have to abide by, so in doing my stairs I learned that my treads needed to be carpeted! So no hardwood for me.

I am still in the middle of completing the tiles on the risers and then doing the wall moldings.

I found these lovely carpet treads for the steps and I am having a hard time in deciding whether to keep things neutral or to liven things up a bit.

The walls around the steps are a light tan color called latte, but the room they ajoin as well as the entry are red. As you can see here…

So which would you go with…

Red Winks

Of course please tell me if you don’t like any of them at all!

Post your opinion by end of day on Friday the 7th of August and I will draw one name to win the book of your choice.

Thanks for your help.

Hugs and Kisses,

Lava. It picks up both the stairwell wall color and the adjacent wall and its nice and warm and welcoming 🙂

I think Lava also. But I’m a guy.

I like the colors from red winks – blends better with the rooms and adds some cheery color – but I don’t like the dots. If they were a solid color, I think they’d look better. Of course, it depends on the room/house decor – the dots add a playful effect, and surrounded by contemporary furnishings, it could look really good.

I like Mineral. It’s a nice contrast to the red in the next room, and I think it’ll look pretty against the color in the risers. 🙂

I’d go for Lava. I like a little color, but not so much as to compete with the red room, or make things become too overdone.
