Yea, I was pissed. It was the only book I had with me on vacation; but even more so, I wondered why my mother didn’t want me reading that book. It intrigued me that one page from a book could worry my mother and make my aunt laugh at the same time.
From that day forth, I was hooked on romance and specifically romance that had some form of sex in it. Now my idea of hot is way different from what it was then, but I still can’t get enough of that heart pounding rush that comes from reading hot and sexy.
I didn’t know I was a writer until much later in life. After two kids and several careers (photography, software, and management), I decided to see if I could create that same intense rush in others that I got from reading a good story. I found that I love writing. The creativity involved, the idea that you are letting the world see a little bit of your mind in each scene you write. Creating a sexy scene is much more satisfying than reading one.
My first story, a historical romance, is still unfinished. Funny enough, the sex scene threw me. I wanted to make it so special that my readers would get all tingly when reading it, and if I was lucky, perhaps play out the scene. I had no idea how to achieve that, so I decided to take a class.
The amazing Sasha White taught a very helpful class on how to write hot, and ever since, I have had no problems writing sexy. Thanks again Sasha!
My friend, Eva Gale, said I needed to write a short erotic story for a contest that was being held. After much prodding from Eva, I yielded to her pressure and wrote my short erotic novella Night Of the Taking. Boy, am I glad I did.
Night Of the Taking was published in a three novella book of my own work titled WHAT SHE CRAVES in 2007 under Kensington’s Aphrodisia line.
Besides writing, which when I’m in the zone is an all-encompassing obsession, I enjoy spending time with my kids and my friends. I love to ride horses and garden, as well as sitting back with a good glass of wine and watching the world go by.
